The Humidor

This page is dedicated to what I smoke. My reviews and recommendations added weekly.

The CAO Mx2 Robusto
CAO Mx2 Robusto

CAO really put in the work for this cigar employing both a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro and a Brazilian Maduo wrapper. The Conn. leaf is the super dark oily exterior while the Brazilian is underneath adding the spice with coffee and bitter chocolate hints.  In addition to the double maduro wrapper, CAO uses a mix of long-fillers from four other countries which adds complexity to this cigar and allows the changes in flavors and subtle hints the shorter the stick becomes. With all the changes and subtleties there are two things that are certain with this cigar; thick velvet smoke and full flavor. The Mx2 retails around $7.00 but I ordered a killer deal from cigars international (CI) with five Mx2 and five Diesel Unholy Cocktails for $30.00! The Deal.  I recommend this stick for after dinner and with your favorite whiskey or Cabernet. Yea I drink wine too…sometimes.

The Indian Tabac Classic Teepee
Indian Tabac Classic Teepee
A mild-medium smoke from the famous Rocky Patel rolled in Honduras is a comprised of a Corojo wrapper and fillers from Costa Rice, Nicaragua and Honduras. Pulling it out of the humidor the wrapper felt like soft leather with the proper resistance when squeezed. It’s very fresh and nicely constructed and has a nice pre lit aroma. Lighting is easy and I did not have to “touch up” the cigar with my lighter as I smoked. There was a small amount of spice that hit you on the front of your tongue throughout the smoke. I did not notice much of a change of flavor or complexities during the burn which can be a trade make of basic cigars but it was good the whole way through. This one goes out on the water or to a tailgate with me and plus I can give it to someone who is a newbie cigar smoker and it wont wreck them. This cigar was bought from Cigars International at $34.99 for a 20 stick box. An Incredible cigar for $1.75 a stick.
